Ok so I have two commercial paints that I love but they both state the same pigment name. Yet they are vastly different. Then I have a Pthalo Blue that is PB 15.4. I also have seen Prussian Blue as PB27 which I have also seen referred to as Milori Blue. I have seen Pthalo Blue as 15:3 so how can that look so different from the Prussian Blue that I have that it is also PB 15:3? If I decide to make these myself do I go with PB 15:3(or PB15:4) for Pthalo and PB27 for Prussian Blue?.....don‘t even get me started on PV19...

A lot of companies use different names that sometimes don't actually relate to the pigment. For the majority of companies Prussian Blue is PB27. Usually any PB15:* is a form of Phthalo blue. The * number usually relates to the warmth of the pigment, for example PB15:3 is Phthalo Blue (Green shade), while my Daniel Smith Phthalo Blue (Red Shade) is PB15:6 & I think Winsor & Newtons Red shade is PB15:1. I've never actually come across PB15:4. I've also seen Phthalo pigments used as Manganese blue hue.
