Is it normal for a layer to take about a week to dry (poured into standard half pans)? I assume that's a fairly normal time & if it takes longer than that then there is too much glycerin
Hey Cheryl, what is your climate like ATM? Are you using honey in conjunction or just glycerin? Less glycerin is a good first step and it also depends on the pigment too. So many factors to consider. Do you have a hot water cupboard? You can pop it in there overnight and see if this helps? A consistent, dry temperature won't hurt I'm sure. I do this sometimes to speed up the process.
The weather is very much up in the air at the moment. It'll rain non stop for a couple of days & then we will have beautiful spring weather for a couple of days & then switch back (I'm in Hobart, Tasmania). Just glycerin. I don't have a hot water cupboard. The PY3 that i made on Saturday & the PV19 I made on Sunday are starting to firm up, but I can still make an indent with my finger nail
Ah so it's the climate by the sounds of it! All that rain means a lot of moisture which is your problem! Another tip is those dessicant beads in a sealed container perhaps. Also, try putting in a little less glycerin and see if that helps.
So it’s ok to completely seal the container (with the dessicant beads? I have the beads, i’m just super paranoid about the paint going mouldy if I close the container completely, so i’ve been leaving it open just a tad.
OK I put 3 pans (one from each colour), all at varying states of drying, into a container with beads & closed it up before I went to bed last night. This morning they are really close to being dry! :)

Try with one pan. But sealed is best. It needs to be a controlled environment.
Thanks! Will do 😊
