Hello all you wonderful paint lovers! I have been learning about paint making for a few months but have begun mulling for the first time and I’m struggling a bit. I am only using matte pigments, not mica. And I’m having trouble with cracking paint and the paint drying on the glass very quickly before I have time time to fill all my pans. I have tried adding extra binder but then it become too liquidy and begins to run off the glass. Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated! 💕 thank you!

There is a previous discussion regarding this issue from August. The comments there mention either too much gum arabic or too little glycerin. Hopefully the other gals will chime in as I have only worked with micas.
Thank you so much, I did see the other post but wasn’t sure if the quick drying paint was related to the cracking. I made a batch tonight and tweaked the binder and it seems that it’s going well so far. I won’t know till morning if the dot cards will crack but the paint seemed to not dry as quickly on the glass. Fingers crossed I got it right 😊
So glad. Hope it works out.
